Day 1 - Hobart, Mount Field, Franklin River & Queenstown

Depart Hobart with your sights set westward as you venture through pristine National Park and charming towns. Check out the dazzling Russell Falls in Mount Field National Park and Lake St Clair, Australia’s deepest freshwater lake (keep your eyes peeled for echidnas here!). Immerse yourself in the magic of  Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, witness the tremendous Franklin River, followed by a stop at the breathtaking Nelson Falls. Day 2 - Strahn, Sarah Island, Maquarie Harbour, Huon Pine & Tullah

Head to Strahan, a quaint town, from where you will embark on your Gordon River cruise. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage rainforest with a guided boardwalk trek through lush ecosystems. Then, take a trip to Australia's harshest penal settlement, Sarah Island. Here, you’ll cruise through the narrow Hells Gates into Macquarie Harbour, with a lunch of local produce served onboard your ship. Get some industry history at the Huon pine sawmill before departing for Tullah. Conclude the day with a group dinner in a lakeside chalet by Lake Rosebery.

Day 3 - Waratah, West Coast, Stanley & takayna

You’re northbound as you depart Tullah and venture to Waratah and witness incredible cascading falls. Mosey on through Hellyer’s Gorge to the captivating North West Coast of Tasmania. Make a stop in Stanley, a gorgeous, flower-filled town to take in views from The Nut, a volcanic plug extending into the sea. Reach 'The Edge of the World' at Arthur River, part of the untamed Tarkine/takayna coast with beautiful ancient trees and deep spiritual significance for Tasmania's Aboriginal people, the palawa. Enjoy dinner and a restful stay at Tall Timbers.

Day 4- takayna, Sumac Lookout, Table Cape, Penguin & Devonport

Explore the enchanting Tarkine/takayna wilderness today for a richer adventure. This vast ancient rainforest is the world's second-largest cool temperate rainforest and is home to numerous palawa indigenous sacred sites, making it truly special country. Visit Sumac Lookout for panoramic forest vistas over the Arthur River and marvel at the geological wonder of Trowutta Arch. Afterwards, head back to the North West Coast, revelling in seaside pit stops at Boat Harbour, Table Cape, and the charming town of Penguin (not only do penguins frequent this coastal town, but the streets are also decorated on theme!). Day 5 - Cradle Mountain, Lake St Clair & Sheffield

Begin your adventure into the breathtaking alpine and glacial landscapes of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage gem. Your guide will present an array of options for exploring the park, from searching for wombats at Ronny Creek to immersing yourself in the park's rich history at Waldheim Chalet. Trek the remarkable Dove Lake Circuit, a 6km trek around the glacial lake nestled beneath the towering peaks of Cradle Mountain, hailed as one of Tasmania's 60 best short walks. En route to Launceston, take a moment to admire the vibrant murals adorning the town of Sheffield. Tonight, indulge in the charm of Australia's second-oldest city at your own pace.

Day 6 - Launceston, Bay of Fires, St Helens & Bicheno

Experience the breathtaking beauty of Launceston's Cataract Gorge, an ideal spot for wallaby sightings just out of the city. Then, board the bus and journey to the East Coast, stopping for lunch in the quaint fishing village of St Helens before arriving at the magical Bay of Fires/larapuna. The Bay of Fires is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, pristine white sands, and striking orange boulders that make for an enchanting landscape. Take your time and explore these sands, before heading to Bicheno, known for its resident coastal penguins. Dinner awaits this evening, followed by an optional excursion to the local blowhole and taking in views of the Tasman Sea from the lookout.

Day 7 - Freycinet, Wineglass Bay & Cape Tourville

Freycinet holds a bucket-list day on the clear and bright East Coast. Visit the stunning Hazards pink granite mountains at Honeymoon Bay where you can relax and snap some gorgeous shots. Then, head to Wineglass Bay Lookout for an incredible view of Tasmania's famed beach with white sands and turquoise waters. Venture to Cape Tourville, where panoramic park-and-ocean views complete your final stop of the day. Return to Hobart via the Great Eastern Drive, where a free evening in the state’s capital await!

Day 8 - Tasmanian Devils, Richmond, kunanyi & Hobart

Encounter a diverse array of Tasmanian wildlife at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, including quolls, birds, wombats, kangaroos and most iconically, Tasmanian devils. Pay a visit to the historic colonial village of Richmond, boasting the oldest convict-built bridges still in operation in Australia. Then, journey back to Hobart via the picturesque Coal River Valley winery region. Later, we'll reveal some of our favourite spots in Hobart, including Mount Wellington/kunanyi. Just a hop, skip and jump away from the bustling city, kunanyi offers a rich natural reserve with numerous trails to explore fern glades, eucalyptus forests, dramatic rock formations, boulder fields, and stunning lookouts. Enjoy plenty of free time in Hobart this evening, frequenting the many pubs, restaurants, live music venues and more!

Day 9 - North & South Bruny Island

Today, the marvels and history of Bruny Island await. Hop on the ferry across the D’Entrecastreaux Channel to the island. Get ready for sweeping views; at the isthmus between North and South Bruny, you’ll be guided up the 279 steps to the top of Truganini Lookout. Check out South Bruny National Park and take in the incredible coastline at Cape Bruny Lighthouse. At Adventure Bay, keep your eyes peeled for white wallabies, and finish the Bruny experience by visiting a few small stalls to try locally sourced and like oysters, cheese and beers. We’ll return to Hobart, for a final night exploring where you may wish the historic Salamanca and charming waterfront area.

Day 10 - Port Arthur Historic Site & Tasman Peninsula

Spend your final day exploring the Port Arthur Historic Site, delving into the realities of convict life in Australia's best-preserved settlement from the 1800s. Stroll amidst the preserved ruins and colonial gardens, then embark on a brief harbour cruise to admire this open-air museum and UNESCO World Heritage Listed Area from the water and check out the Isle of Dead. Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Tasman Peninsula with visits to Pirates Bay Lookout, Tessellated Pavement, Tasman Arch, Devil's Kitchen, and Remarkable Cave. Your tour concludes in Hobart.

      Please note, children are not permitted in single rooms, and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian in a private twin or double room.


      Your Responsibilities

      Please note that the minimum age for this tour is 8 years.

      Please advise us before booking if any passengers are under 18 years old to ensure this is the appropriate trip. 

      You must reconfirm all booked tours and itineraries prior to travel as specified on your voucher or ticket. If applicable, notes such as dietary requirements, pick-up locations and additional fees should also be confirmed at this time. Reconfirmations cannot be actioned through Outback Tours/Mr Travel and must be done so directly through the Service Operator as specified on each ticket.

      It is your responsibility to notify us of ticket discrepancies. Please read through the details on your voucher thoroughly to ensure all details such as passenger names, ages and dates of travel on vouchers/tickets are correct.

      It is the responsibility of all passengers travelling to advise both your travel agent at the time of booking and the individual tour check-in agent, before boarding, of any medical conditions including food allergies you may suffer from.

      You need to allow adequate time to check-in prior to the specified departure time. Please refer to the specific tour page for full check-in instructions. Guests unable to attend their ticketed tour, transport or accommodation due to delay or lateness will not be eligible for a refund.

      If you are undertaking any scuba diving activities, please read and meet the scuba diving medical requirements and information before travel.


      Prices/Extra Costs

      All prices are stated in Australian dollars and include GST. The Service Operator reserves the right to alter prices and extra costs. Extra costs may include EMC fees, Stingersuit/Wetsuit Hire, Luggage Storage, Insurance, Linen Hire, National Park Fees, Fuel Levies, Dietary Fees, etc. Bonds may also apply.

      We will also endeavour to communicate these extra costs with you at the time of booking, and on your ticket. However, it is your responsibility to confirm which (if any) additional costs apply with each Service Operator upon reconfirming your trip.


      Accountability/Misconduct

      All Service Operators have the right to provide client feedback and to cancel bookings based on feedback from other Service Operators.

      Outback Tours/Mr Travel will treat this as any normal client cancellation and therefore the cancellation fees stated in the Client Cancellation Policy will apply.


      Travel Risk/Insurance

      It should be noted that adventure travel involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard clients, we cannot be responsible for personal injury or loss due to the actions of our clients which are beyond our control. We highly recommend that all clients have travel insurance covering illness, injury, loss or damage to personal belongings and not being able to travel on the confirmed date of departure. You should also ensure your travel insurance will cover special circumstances including weather events preventing guests from travelling to their tour departure destination and cancelled flights due to unforeseen circumstances. 

      Guests embarking on activities such as scuba diving, jet skiing, skydiving and hiking experiences should purchase insurance appropriate for the risks involved with these activities. 


      Transport

      It should be noted that any transport you have booked (buses, flights and ferries) through Outback Tours is non-refundable and non-transferable. It might be possible to change flights however do note this must be done directly with the flight operator and we are unable to offer any support with this. This may incur change fees or cancellation fees, it depends on the T+Cs of the flight operators themselves. As we acted as a booking agent for you, it is possible to liaise with the airline directly should there be any unexpected events and the airline is forced to cancel your flights. If there are any changes to your flight times or days, we will get notified and send this email directly to you in a reasonable time.


      Merchant Fees

      Please be aware operators pass on credit card merchant fees so there is a non-refundable 1% surcharge for VISA and MASTERCARD card purchases.

      All ticket/voucher reissues attract a $20 administration fee.


      Transfers

      The Service Operator reserves the right to limit courtesy transfers to select local accommodations. Private residences or Airbnb properties may be asked to meet at the closest confirmed location. Failure to meet at the specified pick-up location may be treated as “No Show”, for which the Client Cancellation Policy applies. Not all tours offer transfers, please refer to the individual product to see if this is applicable to your tour.

      Open Date Vouchers / Gift Certificate:

      Shipping Costs are in addition to the ticket price and will be added at check-out. Shipping costs are non-refundable and do not makeup part of the ticket value.

      You have 5 years to use the value of the voucher. Seasonal Price Rises will apply if travelling out the current seasons pricing. Vouchers can be exchanged for free up to the full value of the voucher excluding credit card fees and charges.

      Cancellations

      Client Cancellations

      All cancellations forfeit 25% of the recommended retail price (RRP) - not the discounted/sale price. No shows or client cancellations made within 60 days of departure forfeit 100% of the total ticket price

      Transfers between tours can be made at the suppliers' discretion, however, it should be noted that supplier fees may apply. Tour transfers also incur a $20 administration fee. 

      It is compulsory that all cancellation requests are in writing and sent via email to: admin@mr-travel.com. Cancellations attempted via online chat or phone will not be actioned.


      Supplier Cancellations

      The Service Operator reserves the right to alter prices, alter itineraries, apply a fuel surcharge, cancel departures, arrange alternative transport and vary itineraries and services if necessary.

      All departures and itineraries are subject to weather. Tours may be changed or cancelled for any reason at the discretion of the Service Operator. If the Service Operator has to cancel the trip or activity (prior to departure) and we cannot offer a suitable alternative, then a refund will be given minus a 20% administration fee and any associated card fees. We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance, especially during the wet season.

      All add-on activities (including but not limited to scuba diving, stand-up paddleboarding, helmet diving, guided snorkel tours, banana boat rides and waterslides) are subject to availability and price changing, and may not be available during your tour without notice. Guests are not eligible for refunds on the grounds of non-operating extra activities.

      In the unlikely event of your trip being cancelled or stood down, all guest communication is required to go through our Online Store via telephone or email. While there is a Sailing Whitsundays retail outlet located Airlie Beach, please be aware that they operate as a separate entity and are unable to access reservations made by the Outback Tours/Mr Travel online department.


      Refunds

      All refunds are in Australian Dollars and must be made to the card of payment. Outback Tours/Mr Travel is not liable for exchange rate fluctuations or fees, or any other merchant/bank fees associated with domestic and/or international transactions.

      Where a full refund is applicable, there is the option to transfer the whole cost of the tour to another tour or “Credit” to avoid the administration fee. A transfer fee of $20 will apply.

      You will be emailed confirmation once the refund has been processed. Once the refund has been processed, it may still take time for the banks to clear the amount. Please allow 7-10 business days for the funds to clear into Australian accounts and up to 21 business days for international accounts.

      What level of fitness is required for this trip?

      A moderate level of fitness is recommended to get the most out of this experience, however all walks are optional.

      This trip features many of the "60 Great Short Walks" of Tassie. Suitable to wide variety of abilities, there is often a choice to choose between easier and more difficult walk options. Some walks are guided, and others are unguided. In short, guests can make this itinerary as active or as easy as you like; all walks are optional and range from 20 minutes up to 4 hours.

      Is accommodation included?

      Yes, accommodation is included in your trip price. Please select your preferred motel option at checkout.

      What are the motels like?

      The motel option features private rooms with ensuite facilities in comfortable, central motels.

      If you're wanting to book Twin or Double accommodation options, a minimum of 2 people is required.

      Is food included?

      14 meals are included, with 8 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 5 dinners provided. The rest of the meals are to be organised at your own discretion, and you will have plenty of free time at local restaurants, bars and cafes to find dining options! Please advise us of any dietary requirements asap.

      What transport is included?

      Comfortable, minibus transport is included, including daily pick-ups and drop-offs to your accommodation.

      Are airport transfers available?

      Please enquire for airport transfer options (available at an extra cost).

      What are the age restrictions?

      This trip is suitable for those 8 years and up. There is no maximum age, so long as you have a sense of adventure and reasonable fitness level.

      Is travel insurance included?

      Travel insurance is not included in this experience, and travellers are strongly recommended to take out appropriate insurance prior to travel. Outback Tours is not liable for any losses due to cancellations, weather events, injury, delays or the likes.

      When does the tour start and end?

      The tour departs Hobart at 7:30am and returns to Hobart at 5:30pm.
