Animal demonstrations and stories

Throughout the Katherine Outback Show, you will catch a glimpse of what real, authentic Outback life is like. The locals will demonstrate horse starting, where the expert trainers begin to form a relationship with an untrained horse. You can also see working dog demonstrations and learn how they muster the cattle and sheep on a farm.

As you watch the delicate dance between humans and animals, the team will share their own stories and experiences about farm life in rural Australia.

After show animal interactions

When the 2-hour performance has finished, there will be free time to roam the grounds and chat with the team. Mingle with the farm animals and have the chance to pat or feed the local horses, dogs, cattle, buffalo, goats, and more. If you're lucky enough to visit when there are baby farm animals, you might be able to give them a cuddle!
