Choose the Toyota Prado 150 if you prefer a comfortable all-rounder with smooth, reliable performance on both sealed and unsealed roads. For travellers venturing further off the beaten path, the Toyota Hilux is the powerhouse option, featuring upgraded suspension, a hybrid turbo-diesel system, expanded fridge capacity, and a 270° awning for premium remote camping! No previous 4WD experience is required; just a valid licence (held for at least 2 years) and an appetite for adventure.

Vehicles
Vehicles provided will be either Toyota Prado 150 Series or Toyota Hilux. Both are engineered for long-distance touring across Western Australia’s rugged landscapes. Choose the Prado for extra comfort and easy driving, or the Hilux for maximum performance and premium off-grid capability.

Important Information
Peak season and public holidays: Additional surcharges may apply to bookings during peak season or public holidays.
Drivers: Drivers must be age 21 or older and hold a valid driver's license that they have had for at least two years. If the licence is not in English, the driver must present an International Driving Permit (IDP) or an official English translation of their original licence
Passengers: The number of passengers in the car must not exceed five.
Next-day hire availability: All vehicles are thoroughly inspected by our mechanics before each hire. In order to give the mechanics time to complete their inspections thoroughly, last-minute booking enquiries must be made at least before midday for next-day hire.
Last minute weekend bookings: Next-day weekend hires are by request only and subject to availability.
Fuel: Your 4WD comes with a full tank of fuel, but you must refill the tank upon return. Failure to do so will incur an additional fee of $3 per litre.
Safety Briefing: The safety briefing is mandatory and will take up the first hour of your rental period. You must attend before you can drive the vehicle.
Insurance: All hire options include CTP (Compulsory Third Party) Insurance. It covers personal injury but not damage to vehicles or property. In case of an incident, there’s a standard $15,000 excess. We do offer options to reduce this, please see these options below:
- Play it Safe – $50/day (excess reduced to $2,500)
- Play it Safest – $75/day (excess reduced to $1,000)
Car cleaning: Vehicles must be returned in a reasonably clean condition. Extra cleaning fees up to $100 may apply if the vehicle needs to be re-cleaned.
Late returns: Late returns incur an additional fee of $50 per hour (up to 2 hours). Beyond this, an extra day's hire is charged.
Bond: The bond must be paid using a credit or debit card before vehicle pick-up. The bond is fully refundable within 5–10 business days after the vehicle is returned and inspected, provided there is no damage.
- No excess reduction selected: A $5,000 bond is required
- $50/day excess reduction selected: A $2,500 bond is required
- $75/day excess reduction selected: A $1,000 bond is required
- If any drivers are under the age of 25, a $2,500 bond applies, regardless of excess reduction taken.

Cancellations
All cancellations forfeit 25% of the recommended retail price (RRP) - not the discounted/sale price.
No shows or client cancellations made within 14 days of departure forfeit 100% of the total ticket price.
A refund in the event of cancellation is subject to both our Cancellation Policy and the terms of the supplier.

Will I need to pay a bond?

Do I need to bring my own camping equipment?
There is no need to bring your own camping gear as both vehicle options are fully equipped with everything you need - though you're welcome to bring your own bits and pieces along!
Do I need to clean the vehicle before returning it?
All vehicles must be returned in reasonably clean condition. An additional cleaning fee of up to $100 may apply if extra cleaning is required.
Do vehicles come with Starlink internet?
The Toyota Prado Camper does not come with Starlink Internet, but the Toyota Hilux Camper does.
Is there a minimum hire period?
This depends on whether you plan to return your vehicle to the same location, or book a one-way hire:
- Same-location return: Minimum of 5 days
- One-way hires: Minimum of 2 weeks (sometimes longer depending on your route.)
What sort of driver's licence do I need?
All drivers must have a full, clean drivers licence. If the driving license is not in English, a driver must present an International Driving Permit (IDP) or an official English translation of their original licence.
Is insurance included?
Yes. Compulsory Third Party insurance is included. Your excess amount may vary depending on your preferred cover option.
