Day One: Alice Springs or Yulura to Kata Tjuta
Following an early start meeting your tour guide and fellow adventurers in Alice Springs, you'll soon be on the road and heading deep into the Red Centre of Australia! After a few short hours, you'll be greeted on the horizon by the sandstone behemoth Uluru for the first time, basking in all of its magnificent glory! For those joining the tour in Yulura, your guide will pick you up from the designated meeting point.
Then, head to Kata Tjuta and prepare to be awestruck. This mystical location, comprising of 36 giant sandstone domes, will surely take your breath away as you hike through and explore the rugged terrain around it. You'll then travel to the first campsite of your trip, where you'll be prepared a delicious dinner while you're treated to one of the most impressive sunsets in the world, before witnessing the sky become a real-life planetarium!
Notes: Total driving time today is around 7 hours. Total walking time is approximately 2 hours.
Day Two: Uluru
Day two will commence bright and early, as you get the perfect opportunity to marvel at the sun rising majestically behind Uluru! After a hearty breakfast, you'll be transported to the foot of Uluru, where you'll be captivated by some Anangu rock art and be inspired by some creation stories of the local area. You will then get to enjoy some free time, where you can spend a couple of hours wandering around the base of Uluru to really appreciate its sheer size and magnificence!
After lunch, there will also be an opportunity to visit the Uluru Cultural Centre; an eye-opening experience where you can purchase trinkets and souvenirs handcrafted by local First Nations People! Your amazing day will be capped off with a journey to your second campsite near the Watarrka National Park, before eating a delicious dinner and watch as the sun sets once again from the sky!
Notes: Total driving time today is around 3.5 hours. Total walking time is approximately 2.5 hours (or up to 3.5 hours if you do the full 10km base walk around Uluru).
Day Three: Kings Canyon Rim Walk
Your third day of adventure will commence with another spectacular Red Centre sunrise! Following breakfast, you will spend the next few hours exploring the wonders of Watarrka National Park, including the iconic Kings Canyon. This breathtaking canyon features hidden rock pools, porous sandstone and deep gullies- as well as over 600 species of native plants and animals, promising plenty of wild exploration! Notable locations you'll visit around Kings Canyon are the Garden of Eden, the Lost City, the Amphitheatre and both the North and South walls of the canyon.
After a well-deserved lunch, you will head back towards Yulara, where you can enjoy optional activities such as a Sunset Camel Cruise, the Fields of Lights, Sounds of Silence or the Wintjiri Wiru Drone display! Alternatively, this time presents the perfect moment to witness the iconic Uluru sunset from a different angle- the choices are endless!
Notes: Total driving time today is around 3 hours. Total walking time is approximately 3.5 hours (For the Kings Canyon Rim Walk it is a requirement that you have a minimum of three litres of water with you. Please consider bringing your own refillable water bottles.)
Day Four: Departure Day
Shortly after a well-needed night's sleep and delicious breakfast, you will make the 15-minute journey from your campsite to the Desert Gardens Hotel in Yulara at around 9 am, where it will be time to say your goodbyes and part ways with your new group of friends!
From the hotel, there are free shuttle buses that take you right to the door of the Yulara airport if you have booked an onward flight!

- This tour commences in Alice Springs on Day 1 at 06:05am, or in Yulura at the designated time, and finishes in Yulara on Day 4 at approximately 9am.
- 15kg in soft bag plus carry on day pack. No hard cases please.
- Any dietary requirements must be advised at the time of booking, in order to order to accommodate this before the tour commences.
- Please provide details of any medical conditions at the time of booking. There is very limited to access to medical treatment in the outback.
- For the Kings Canyon Rim Walk it is a requirement that you have a minimum of 3 litres of water with you. Please consider bringing your own refillable water bottles.
