Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the tour start and end?

The tour commences in Yulara at the Ayers Rock Resort on Day 1 and finishes in the same place on Day 4 at approximately 9am.

Is there an age restriction?

Yes, this tour is only suitable for anyone ages 8 and above.

What is the accommodation like?

This is a basic camping experience where each person will be sleeping in a swag. A swag in an Australian invention that includes a bed roll with a thin mattress and a canvas cover. You hop inside with your sleeping bag then zip yourself up, only allowing enough space to view the amazing stars above you.

What are the temperatures like in the Red Centre?

Temperatures in the Red Centre can be extreme, with hot and sunny weather during the day and cold weather at night. Pack comfortable clothes and sun protection for the days and warm clothes for the nights. Comfort is key, so pack layers to be prepared for all occasions.

What level of fitness is required?

This trip requires a moderate level of fitness and there is quite a lot of walking. Wear comfortable walking shoes and clothes that are ideal for exploring nature!

Where should we fly into?

Save time before your trip by flying directly to Ayers Rock Airport. It's very close to Yulara and Uluru. Other tours that start in Alice Springs require 8 hours of driving to get out to Uluru. If you want to book this tour but fly into Alice Springs, you'll have to organise your own transport to Ayers Rock Resort in Yulara.

Can my dietary requirements be catered for?

Yes, but please let us know upon booking! The Outback is very remote and meals are prepared in advance so the team needs advance notice to cater for special diets.

Is there a luggage limit?

Each person is allowed 15kg in a soft bag plus a carry on day pack. No hard cases please.
