Day 1
Adelaide to Kangaroo Island: Surf vistas & wine/honey tastings
Start your day with a 6:45 am SeaLink bus from Adelaide CBD to Cape Jervis (note that travellers must be self-directed in catching the early ferry, as your guide will meet you on Kangaroo Island). After a 45-minute ferry to Penneshaw, meet your Untamed Escapes Guide for an adventure briefing. Onboard the ferry, download the Passport to Recovery App if you’re interested in contributing to local conservation and becoming a citizen scientist! Then, take in the view with a scenic drive to Pennington Bay, famous for its surf. Climb Prospect Hill for sweeping, panoramic views before a visit to a honey farm to learn about Ligurian bees and enjoy a tasting. After lunch, tour Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery and Dudley Wines. As the day comes to a close, arrive at "Happiness" campsite at Antechamber Bay, and relax under the Milky Way in a tranquil paradise!
Day 2
Kangaroo Island: National Park walks, rock formations & seal spotting
After breakfast, experience an unforgettable wildlife encounter at Seal Bay, home to 800 endangered Australian sea lions. Join an interesting tour with National Parks & Wildlife guides, learning about these fascinating creatures and conservation efforts in the area. Walk through dunes to the beach, passing sea lions along the way. Next, visit Flinders Chase National Park, known for its stunning rock formations and wildlife. At Admirals Arch, stroll along a boardwalk and spot New Zealand fur seals. Marvel at the Remarkable Rocks, sculpted over 500 million years, before returning to camp for free time and relaxation before dinner.
Day 3
Kangaroo Island to Adelaide: bush walks, bird spotting and conservation experience
Start your final day with a morning bush walk near camp. After packing up camp, head to the island's quiet north coast. Explore the lagoon's birdlife and enjoy lunch together, before strolling along American River, spotting various bird species that are abundant in the area. In warmer months, explore caves before reaching Stokes Bay, voted Australia's best beach in 2023 where you can enjoy free time for snorkelling or relaxing. This afternoon, opt to participate in a conservation volunteering activity, like seed collection, wildlife assistance, or a beach clean-up (seasonally chosen). Conclude your adventure with a 5:30 pm ferry to Cape Jervis, returning to Adelaide by 9 pm.

Amenities at your campground include a camp kitchen, indoor lounge area, campfires, bathrooms and warm showers. If it is too cold or damp to camp outside, there is enough room to set up the swags indoors so you can rest assured you'll be warm and dry whatever the weather!

Tent Set Up
Travellers will be provided with single swags, which are a deluxe Aussie bed roll tent made from canvas with an in-built comfy mattress. You are required to bring your own pillow and sleeping bag. Involvement from travellers is appreciated and required when it comes to camp set up, pack up and meals. Sleep under the milky way and unwind fireside every night on this truly unforgettable camping adventure!

How fit do I need to be for this trip?
To fully enjoy this trip, we suggest you have a moderate fitness level (walking roughly 2 to 5 kilometres on some days on uneven ground in potentially rainy conditions.
Where will we stay?
This trip includes two nights of swag camping accommodation at Happiness Campground. For more information on the facilities, tent set up and setting, please see the accommodation section above!
Policies
Important Information
- A moderate fitness level is required, and you need to be prepared for walks between 2-5 kilometres on some days. This may involve rough ground and perhaps getting wet.
- Please advise of any special dietary requirements when you book. We offer plenty of variety and do our best to provide fresh products. Snacks, soft drinks and alcohol are not included.
- You are required to board the Sealink Ferry on the first day of the tour self-sufficiently as your guide will meet you on Kangaroo Island.
- As part of our COVID-Safe protocols, all passengers must complete online check-in, including a ‘Fit for Travel’ self-declaration to confirm they are free from illness. This is mandatory and must be completed at the latest 24 hours before departure.
- This tour requires a minimum of six people to operate. In the unlikely event your departure is cancelled because minimum numbers have not been met, we will transfer all monies paid onto a future departure date. If this is not suitable, we will refund your tour price in full.
- Please note that on occasion, the ferry times will change from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, with the return time to Adelaide bus station at 10:30 pm. If this is the case, you will be informed two days before the tour departs Adelaide.
- Weather conditions in Australia can change quickly, and our experienced guides will always put the safety of our passengers first and stay abreast of weather conditions.
- Itinerary changes may occur to ensure we provide the best possible experience. For example, if it is wet or cold, your Guide may change the beach and outdoor activities with indoor experiences such as visiting the Lavender Farm, Georges Castle and other cellar doors. Regardless of the weather, there is plenty to do, and any itinerary changes will be communicated to the group in advance.
Cancellations
All cancellations forfeit 25% of the recommended retail price (RRP) - not the discounted/sale price. No shows or client cancellations made within 60 days of departure forfeit 100% of the total ticket price.
A refund in the event of cancellation is subject to both our Cancellation Policy and the terms of the supplier.
