Day One: Yulara to Kata Tjuta

Day One: Yulara to Kata Tjuta
Begin your trip in Yulara, meeting your guide and fellow adventurers at the designated pick-up points and time. Once you're with your travel crew, drive deep into the Red Centre until you're greeted by the iconic Uluru for the first time. Spend the afternoon at Kata Tjuta exploring the 36 sandstone domes that make up the magnificent landscape. Before sunset, head to your campsite and soak up the dreamy sunset while enjoying a delicious meal. If the weather permits, fall asleep under the stars, while the sky transforms into a real-life planetarium!
Notes: Total driving time today is around 7 hours. Total walking time is approximately 2 hours.
Day Two: Uluru Sunrise
Your second day in the Red Centre will begin early in the morning as you set off to Uluru to witness one of the most beautiful sunrises in the world. Once you've soaked up the views, your guide will take you to see Anangu rock art and tell you fascinating creation stories of the area. Later, enjoy some free time to explore Uluru, and visit the Uluru Culture Centre where you can purchase handcrafted art and souvenirs made by local First Nation Peoples of the Western and Central Deserts. That afternoon, travel to a campsite near Kings Canyon, before enjoying an open-air dinner and a spectacular outback sunset!
Notes: Total driving time today is around 3.5 hours. Total walking time is approximately 2.5 hours (or up to 3.5 hours if you do the full 10km base walk around Uluru).
Day Three: Kings Canyon and back to Alice Springs
Wake up early for your final Red Centre sunrise before heading over to Watarrka National Park to explore some beautiful hidden gems as well as the famous Kings Canyon. Visit hidden rock pools and deep gullies, the Lost City and the Garden of Eden, and spy some of the 600 native flora and fauna that live nearby. Enjoy a tasty lunch before setting off to your final destination, Alice Springs, where you'll say your final goodbyes.
Notes: Total driving time today is around 5 hours. Total walking time is approximately 3 hours (For the Kings Canyon Rim Walk it is a requirement that you have a minimum of three litres of water with you. Please consider bringing your own refillable water bottles.)

Please keep your luggage to a minimum, by only bringing a small soft-sided bag plus a day pack. Travellers are limited to carry a maximum of 15kg. Excess luggage can usually be stored at your arrival/departure hotel and can be collected after your trip.

What is the weather like in the Red Centre?
Temperatures in the Outback can be extreme, so pack layers to suit all conditions. Sun protection is essential, and you may also want warm clothes for the desert nights and mornings.
