Day 1 - Depart Darwin and explore Litchfield National Park

Head out of Darwin bright and early for your 3-day, small-group adventure through the Outback. Your first stop is Litchfield National Park, a highlight of the Northern Territory. Admire the highlights of this lush park, including Buley Rockhole, Tolmer Falls, Florence Falls, Wangi Falls, and the unique Magnetic and Cathedral Termite mounds. Continue south to the Adelaide River and wrap up the day with a hearty feed at a classic Outback pub.

Day 2 - Nitmiluk National Park and hot springs

Start day 2 by traversing Nitmiluk National Park, another gorgeous oasis of natural beauty in the Outback. Check out the tumbling cascades of Edith Falls before heading into the town of Katherine for refreshments. For the rest of the day, immerse yourself in the serenity of some iconic Outback hot springs, including Bitter Springs and Mataranka Hot Springs. Rejuvenate your body and mind in the therapeutic waters before continuing south to the legendary Daly Waters Pub for dinner and live music. 


Day 3 - Karlu Karlu and arrive in Alice Springs

On the final day of your adventure, journey further south into the Northern Territory through Tennant Creek. The next stop is the Karlu Karlu, also known as Devil's Marbles, where you can have lunch and learn about the geology, culture, and history of the captivating rock formations here. As you continue driving south, you'll pass the Tropic of Capricorn and arrive in Alice Springs just in time for sunset.

All cancellations forfeit 25% of the recommended retail price (RRP) - not the discounted/sale price. No shows or client cancellations made within 60 days of departure forfeit 100% of the total ticket price

Can we do this Mulgas Adventures tour in reverse?

Yes! Contact us to book a 3-day adventure from Alice Springs to Darwin, which is basically the same itinerary in reverse.

When does the tour depart?

This tour departs every Friday at 7am from Darwin.

Does the Darwin to Alice Springs tour run year-round?

This tour only runs from May to November, as this is the dry season when most parks and attractions are open!

How many people are on the tour?

There are only 10 people on tour for an intimate, small-group experience!

Are meals included?

Some meals are provided on tour, including dinner on day 1, breakfast and dinner on day 2, and breakfast on day 3. Other meals are at your own expense. 

Can we bring extra snacks or meals?

You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks. We recommend visiting the supermarket in Darwin before leaving for the tour, as shops can be expensive along the way.

What is the transport like?

You'll travel from Darwin to Alice Springs in a fully air-conditioned bus. 

Are there showers and electricity?

Yes, when we spend the night there are modern amenities including showers and electricity. 

Can my dietary requirements be catered for?
